About Us
|
The partnership which formed Renewal Academy came together in July 2003
specifically to deliver the national training programme for the National
Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy on behalf of the then Office of the Deputy Prime
Minister (ODPM). The partnership was structured to combine substantial
regeneration delivery experience with professional teaching and learning at all
levels.
Renewal Academy is founded on the belief that the skills and knowledge for
successful area based regeneration need to be firmly grounded in practice and
underpinned by a sound evidence base. Our approach therefore brings together a
skills mix which combines delivery experience and expert learning practice.
The driving philosophy behind the foundation of Renewal Academy was to stimulate
a significant change in approach to the development of skills, knowledge and
behaviours for regeneration and renewal. We make use of a variety of innovative
and imaginative methods and styles of learning provision. The key to our values
lies in the belief that regeneration delivery needs to be underpinned by an
ability to constantly question practice and evaluate experience. We strive for a
culture which fosters openness and willingness to share and learn.
At Renewal Academy we have developed a practical approach to learning which
recognises that for learning to be effective it needs to be closely related to
the challenges of implementation. Our learning style also allows for maximum
interaction between participants to ensure effective learning from each other.
Above all it seeks to turn the learning into reality because our priority
objective is better delivery. |
